Terms of Service

Effective August 18, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of BuyerPath, including our website, roadmap, financial calculators, location research tools, guides, and account features (collectively, the “Service”). By using BuyerPath, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What BuyerPath Is

BuyerPath is an educational and informational platform that helps people understand the home-buying and homeownership process. It gives you a personalized roadmap, financial calculators, location research tools, and educational guides so you can plan and research on your own terms.

BuyerPath is a self-serve research and planning tool. It does not evaluate your individual financial situation the way a licensed professional would, and nothing it produces is a substitute for advice from a qualified lender, real estate agent, attorney, financial advisor, or tax professional. See our Disclaimer for a full explanation of what BuyerPath is and isn't.

2. Educational and Informational Purpose Only

Everything on BuyerPath — the roadmap, the calculators, the location research tools, and the guides — is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It is meant to help you understand concepts, estimate numbers, and organize your own research, not to tell you what to do in your specific situation.

BuyerPath is not a lender, mortgage broker, real estate agent or brokerage, financial advisor, attorney or law firm, tax advisor, or any other licensed professional. We do not originate loans, list or sell property, provide individualized financial or legal advice, or represent you in any transaction. Before making significant financial, legal, tax, or real estate decisions, you should consult a qualified, licensed professional who can evaluate your specific circumstances.

3. User Accounts

Many of BuyerPath's core tools — the calculators, location research, and guides — are free to use without creating an account. Creating an account lets you save your roadmap, to-do list, guides, and calculator results so you can pick up where you left off.

To create an account, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Provide accurate information (your name and a valid email address).
  • Use the account for your own personal, non-commercial home-buying and homeownership planning.

You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, so use a password you don't reuse elsewhere and keep your login credentials confidential.

4. Account Security and Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Keep your password confidential and not share your account with others.
  • Notify us promptly at support@buyerpath.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
  • Provide accurate information when creating or updating your account.

We use industry-standard practices to protect your account (see our Privacy Policy for details), but no online service can guarantee absolute security. You use BuyerPath at your own risk with respect to matters outside our reasonable control.

5. Saved Roadmaps, To-Do Lists, Guides, and Calculations

If you create an account, BuyerPath lets you save several kinds of content tied to your profile:

  • Saved roadmap — the answers you give during the Getting Started assessment and the personalized phase/step output generated from them.
  • Saved to-do items — recommended action items you've chosen to add to your dashboard, individually or in bulk from your roadmap results.
  • Saved guides — guides you've bookmarked for later reading.
  • Saved calculations — the inputs and result snapshots you save from the mortgage calculator, buy-vs-rent comparison, homeownership goal planner, or location research tool.

This saved content is yours to manage. You can revisit, update, or delete it from your dashboard or the relevant tool at any time. We store it so the Service can work the way it's designed to — as a place to return to, not a one-time calculator.

6. Roadmap Assessments and Hypothetical Scenarios

The Getting Started assessment asks you a series of questions and uses your answers to generate a personalized roadmap — an estimate of where you likely are in the home-buying process and what to consider next. Some tools also let you explore hypothetical or “what-if” scenarios (for example, testing different down payments, interest rates, or timelines). These outputs are generated from the information you provide and general assumptions we've built into the underlying logic. They are a starting point for your own research and conversations with qualified professionals, not a professional assessment of your circumstances, and they are not guaranteed to be complete, current, or accurate for your situation.

7. Financial Calculators

BuyerPath's mortgage calculator, buy-vs-rent comparison, and homeownership goal planner produce estimates based on the numbers you enter and general assumptions about rates, taxes, insurance, and other costs. They are not loan offers, pre-approvals, quotes, or guarantees of any kind, and they do not take into account every factor a lender or financial professional would consider. Actual loan terms, monthly payments, and total costs of homeownership will vary — often significantly — based on your credit profile, the lender, current market rates, local taxes and insurance, and many other factors outside our tools' scope. Always confirm numbers with a lender or financial professional before relying on them.

8. Location Research Tools

The location research tool provides general information about cities and metro areas — things like typical home prices, cost-of-living indicators, and climate — compiled from publicly available reference sources. This data is provided for general research purposes, is not real-time, and may not reflect current market conditions, a specific property, or a specific neighborhood. Use it as a starting point for your own research, not as the sole basis for a purchase decision.

9. Guides and Educational Content

BuyerPath's guides explain home-buying and homeownership concepts in plain language. They reflect general practices that are common across the U.S. housing market, but laws, programs, costs, and customary practices vary by state, county, and lender, and they change over time. A guide describing a typical process is not a substitute for confirming the specific rules that apply where you're buying.

10. Accuracy Limitations and Third-Party Information

We work to keep BuyerPath's content, calculators, and reference data accurate and useful, but the Service relies in part on publicly sourced data and general assumptions that can become outdated or may contain inaccuracies. We don't guarantee that any information, calculation, or roadmap output on BuyerPath is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your particular circumstances. You are responsible for independently verifying important information — especially anything related to pricing, financing, taxes, or legal requirements — before making decisions based on it.

11. Intellectual Property

BuyerPath and its original content, features, design, and underlying logic (including the roadmap engine, calculators, and guide content) are owned by BuyerPath and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own home-buying and homeownership planning. You may not copy, scrape, resell, sublicense, or create derivative works from the Service or its content without our prior written permission.

12. Acceptable Use

You agree to use BuyerPath only for its intended purpose: your own personal research and planning. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or data.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract content, calculators, or reference data from the Service without our permission.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Reverse-engineer the roadmap logic or calculators for competitive purposes.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
  • Upload or transmit malicious code.

13. Account Suspension and Termination

You may stop using BuyerPath or delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@buyerpath.com.

We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you've violated these Terms, misused the Service, or created risk or legal exposure for BuyerPath or other users. Where practical, we'll try to notify you first. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

14. Service Availability

We aim to keep BuyerPath available and reliable, but we don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service — temporarily or permanently — for maintenance, improvements, or other reasons, with or without notice.

15. Changes to the Service

BuyerPath is actively evolving. We may add, change, or remove features, tools, or content at any time as the product develops. We'll try to preserve your saved data (roadmap, to-dos, guides, and calculations) across changes, but significant changes to how a feature works may affect how previously saved content is displayed or interpreted.

16. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT, CALCULATORS, ROADMAPS, AND REFERENCE DATA ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

BuyerPath does not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any estimate, roadmap, or piece of content is accurate, complete, or suitable for your situation. See our Disclaimer for more detail on the limits of what BuyerPath provides.

17. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUYERPATH AND ITS TEAM WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY DECISION MADE OR ACTION TAKEN IN RELIANCE ON A CALCULATION, ROADMAP OUTPUT, OR PIECE OF CONTENT ON BUYERPATH — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE EXTENT ANY LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

18. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BuyerPath and its team from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

19. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which BuyerPath operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts with jurisdiction over that location, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as BuyerPath evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Effective” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you (for example, by email or an in-product notice). Continuing to use BuyerPath after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

21. Other Provisions

Entire agreement.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, make up the entire agreement between you and BuyerPath regarding the Service.

Severability.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in full effect.

No waiver.

Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
