Listing Agent
Also known as Seller's Agent
The real estate agent representing the seller, whose job is to get the best deal for them.
In plain English
The listing agent is hired by the seller to market the home, field offers, and negotiate on the seller's behalf. They owe their fiduciary duty to the seller, not to you as the buyer.
Why it matters
If you're buying without your own agent, remember the listing agent isn't working for you — that's exactly why most buyers bring their own representation.
